Nashville artists David Davidson, violinist, and Russell Davis, pianist, present an afternoon of Classical & Classics. Favorite selections from Baroque, Classical and Romantic music eras – music of Bach, Mozart, Handel, Scubert, Faure and Mascagni, and beloved Golden Age of Movie Score Themes – Mancini, Silvestri, Arlen, Rota, Morricone and Hammerstein. Beautiful melodies will be performed on world class instruments by two of Nashville’s most expressive music performers!

Violinist David Davidson has had an extraordinary career as a soloist, concertmaster, composer, arranger, and orchestrator. From 1978-1983 he served as the concertmaster of the Jacksonville Symphony. During his tenure there he performed as a soloist and chamber musician, performing many masterworks such as Lalo Symphony Espanol, Saint-Saens’s Rondo Capriccioso, Brahms Violin concerto, Bach E Major, Bach concerto for Oboe and Violin in C minor, all the Brandenburg Concerti and much chamber music. During this time, he also served as concertmaster of the Festival of American music under the baton of the late Gregg Smith.

In 1984, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in commercial music. During this time, he was appointed concertmaster of the Nashville Chamber Orchestra and recorded for both Warner Brothers and Naxos labels. He is also a solo recording artist on the Green Hill and Burton Ave labels, having over one million plays on Spotify. Mr. Davidson’s credits as a session musician includes such artists as Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and Michael W Smith. He has written and recorded over 1,000 string arrangements. Davidson currently resides in Nashville with his wife Karen, and has four children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A seventh generation Tennessean and native Nashvillian, Russell Davis is one of Nashville’s most accomplished accompanists, working in a wide array of artists and styles. A graduate of Belmont University, Davis has produced over twenty recording projects for vocal and instrumental artists including five solo projects and is a featured artist on the Green Hill Music roster. He has served for many years as accompanist/music director for Nashville Repertory Theater, Nashville Children’s Theater and Belmont University and many area schools.   He plays both piano and pipe organ and has served as a church accompanist for over 50 years for various Nashville congregations along with collabator/producer for many studio recordings.
As owner of Wedding Musicians Company, he played the past 30 years for thousands of wedding, corporate and special events throughout the Southeast.  He has also been a music director for Celebrity and Norwegian Cruise lines.  Along with a career as a collaborative music artist, Davis is the buyer/manager of the museum store for Belmont Mansion in Nashville
